Dr. Paul Davies


Paul Sheldon Davies earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1994, the same year he joined the Philosophy Department at William and Mary. His first book, Norms of Nature, was published in 2001 by MIT Press and his second book, Sujbects of the World: Darwin's Rhetoric and the Study of Agency in Nature, is forthcoming from the University of Chicago Press. Paul is a member of two interdisciplinary associations with international membership: The International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology (ISHPSSB) and The Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness (ASSC). He lives in Newport News, Virginia with his wife and daughter.
